Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met Swedish Minister for Rural Affairs Sven-Erik Bucht in Beijing on Nov. 25, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral agricultural cooperation.

Both sides spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation in agricultural S&T, dairy products processing, capacity building and personnel exchanges between China and Sweden in recent years. To further practical cooperation, Vice Minister Qu put forward the following suggestions:

(1) support practical cooperation in agricultural eco-environment protection, leveraging the platform of the China-Sweden Joint Laboratory for Agricultural and Environmental Technology to increase research capacity of both countries;

(2) establish reliable communication mechanisms, conduct training and exchange activities, and further improve the quality and safety of agricultural products to facilitate agricultural trade; and

(3) deepen dairy cooperation, conducting joint research on key technologies including dairy farming, breeding and machinery, and organizing training projects for dairy technology exchanges.
